FAQ

Have questions about our services, coverage, or what to expect? You’ll find answers to the most common ones below. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, contact us.

We offer a variety of services at our clinic and include physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic care, pelvic physiotherapy, orthotics assessment, acupuncture and dry needling.  We also have therapists that treat work related and MVA (motor vehicle accident) injuries. Our therapists also work hard to incorporate therapy with a valuable home program to maintain your treatment results.

Do I need a doctor referral?

Physiotherapists are primary care practitioners.  This means you do not need a letter from your doctor to book an appointment for physiotherapy.  However, it is important that you check with your extended health insurance to see if they require a doctor’s referral.

Is my treatment covered by OHIP?

Miltowne Physiotherapy is a private practice and services are not covered by OHIP funding.  We offer online billing for many extended health care coverage.

How many sessions will I need?

At Miltowne Physiotherapy we do not rely on assistants to help us implement our treatment plans.  Therefore, at all your sessions you will have one-to-one time with your practitioner.  It will be up to your practitioner to identify how many sessions you require and depends on the nature of your injury, treatment approach and timeline of symptoms.

Do you bill insurance companies directly?

Rachel is our contact for questions related to extended health billing.  We are lucky to be able to offer online direct billing for many extended health care plans for physiotherapy, massage and chiropractic care.
